WOMAD strikes again.

Yesterday night,

at the “Santa Catalina” park in Las Palmas the popular music and dance festival WOMAD started with its 12th edition. WOMAD, wich stands for “World Of Music, Arts & Dance” is a multicultural event with musical performances, workshop areas for adults and children and walkabout artists.

The event will be this entire weekend (10th-12th) featuring performers such as: Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings ( United States ), Soul Jazz Sound System ( United Kingdom ), Toumani Diabaté & Symmetric Orchestra ( Mali ), Tamgo ( Canary Islands ), Sam Tshabalala ( South Africa ) and many more.

Though i won’t be able to go this year, i’d deffinitely recomend you this event. I’ve been there several other years and it’s and experience you shouldn’t miss if you’re on the island.
