Pictures
As i sat yesterday evening at home,
listening to the constant radio reports about the fires i didn’t realize how close the fire was to Maspalomas until my mother gave me a call and told me: “…go out and take some pictures of the red sun…”. So i took my cam and went outside and saw that the smoke was almost over us. The smell of burnt wood was impossible to go unnoticed:
I couldn’t really see much, so i took my car and went to higher grounds, i made it a few kilometers above ‘El Salobre’, the neighbourhood over ‘El Tablero’. Here is what i saw:

Me and my boyfriend have booked a 2week vacation in Gran Canaria in August. We are staying in ‘Playa de Ingles,’ we have never been to the Island and believe that it is near Maspalomas, I’m hoping that our hotel Neptuno hasnt been affected and that the island is still as beautiful as it looks.
