Iceless Ice-skating
This might sound a bit weird,
actually it does, but still it’s true. The “Las Arenas” shopping centre in Las Palmas has set up, just like last year, an ice-skating rink but this year it has no ice. The clue, polyethylene panels wetted with a special liquid which makes its surface as slippery as ice.
The rink, called Canary Ice Land has a size of 400m² and is located on the terrace of the “Las Arenas” shopping centre, on the top floor. For those of you who’d like to visit this, it will be open daily until January 20th from 17:00 to 22:00. These opening hours will change to: 11:00 to 22:00 when the school vacations begin, around the 20th of this month. Entrance: 6€ for 45 minutes.
It’s said to be as slippery as last year but less wet, so for those of you who haven’t done any skating before this might be your chance to have a “less dramatic experience”. For others, like me
- with skating experience, lets just hope it is as fun as on real ice. I’ll try to post some pics these days.
