Hunting idiots or idiots hunting?
A few weekends ago,
Iñaki, the guard of the “Las Niñas” dam was shocked when he watched “hunters” shooting, with aparently no criteria, at the ducks that lately have been staying in this reservoir. He saw from the dam’s viewpoint these “hunters” shoot at the birds and just drive away, leaving them behind.
These birds had grown to a little colony after a friend of his had given him a few specimen, and had also become a little attraction for the visitors that every weekend visit this reservoir.
A pair of “fishing-eagles” where often seen in this region too, but since this problem began they’re gone.
You don’t have to be very clever to know where they probably have gone. I don’t know why people do this kind of things. They are not that much that could be seen as a plague or anything like that. The “seprona”, the guards in charge of nature reserves on the Island, should have a very closer look at this places to catch these guys.
