Me and my boyfriend have booked a 2week vacation in Gran Canaria in August. We are staying in ‘Playa de Ingles,’ we have never been to the Island and believe that it is near Maspalomas, I’m hoping that our hotel Neptuno hasnt been affected and that the island is still as beautiful as it looks. We enjoy Gran Canaria and its people but last year we booked a trip for the Island tour ,the bus never turned up and the firm we booked through tried to say WE were late for the bus.My question is are the island tours on after the terrible fires.

Hi Klopapier,
We stayed on your beautiful island at Easter and will hopefully come back. We stayed in maspalomas and went a couple of time to Palmitos park, which we loved. Their website says that the park was severly affected by the fire and has closed; do you know if the parrots and animals are ok? or any other news about the park please? kind regards Jenny

Hi Mike,

well, the article i read about this didn’t mention it since this was one of the main reasons and major problems why it hasn’t been arranged yet.

The problem is that the Canteras beach has an avenue that goes along with the beach almost in its entirety.
I don’t think naturists and nudists would bother much about it, neither would i, but surely there’ll be people who probably will find it unethic or immoral or whatever…

We’ll just have to wait…
But i will post about it as soon as i know something more.

Hi again ;P ,

that was fast and successful i think. I went into FC Torrevieja’s hompage and spoke to a guy named Eddie. He is the speaker of the stadium or the stadium’s contact person i think, he didn’t tell me.

But he said that there would be no problem with that, as long as you contact him personally before entering the stadium.
He told me that you should call him before the game starts and that they would help you guys out with whatever you needed. You can find his telephone number on the FC Torrevieja homepage, on the left side.
If it’s no longer there when you check it, leave your e-mail address and i will send it to you (I won’t put it here, to avoid oncoming problems).

He also told me that the secretary of the team’s club has already answered the mail you sent them.

PS: It would be great if on of you manage to take some pictures, i’d be glad to post them.

we are a group of english who are trying to encourage people to keep looking for Yeremi Vargos (7) from Gran Canaria and Madeleine McCann (4) from England. FC Torrevieja are playing FC Fuerteventura and we are trying to get the stadium to allow us toet the crowd to hold up posters of them to raise their profile and stop them being forgotten. please can you e-mail Torre stadium and ask them to please display their posters on the big screen. We are united in our love for football please help us find our children

Hi Jose,

i don’t actually verfy if it’s completely true in every single fact, but i suppose it since it’s one of our two main newspapers read here.
Here’s the article http://www.canarias7.com/articulo.cfm?id=3570 from the newspaper i looked it up.
If you are from GC you’ll probably know “Canarias 7″ as well as “La Provincia” thats where i look almost everything up.

Hi Rcon,

nice havin’ you always around here…

My friends camera used in the Tejeda pictures is a Pentax Optio 50L (5.0mpx) and the camera used in all the others is my Sony DSC-T7 (5.1mpx) Hope that will help you.

As a matter of fact i recommend you the Pentax for better overall pictures, since my T7 is really tiny and has therefore a very small lens. This makes pictures done with zoom not always as good as you might see on the LCD-screen. It’s very difficult to hold steady and keep the sharpness with no tripod on pictures were zoom in a lot.
