This weekend,
see the magnificent work some artists have done at the "Las Canteras" beach in Las Palmas. Pavel Zadanyuk is the author of this years representation of the nativity made just out of sand. Around twenty volunteers helped on the command of canarian artwork master Etual Ojeda, coordinator of this work of art.
Some with their bare hands, some with kitchen tools or others with bricklaying tools, but all of them willing to make this sandsculptures a memorable thing to remember of this ending year.
If you are on the island i'd like to invite you to visit this beach, one of the most beautiful ones of Gran Canaria, and admire the work of these men and women. Recomendable for sure.

Like every year,
for those of you who ever doubt it, yes its true. hahah :D
Unlike other countries around europe, in Spain, rather than set up a christmas tree and wait for "Santa" the 24th at night or 25th in the morning, it's more usual to set up a representation of the nativity. Those who have enough space built it big enough space te create a complete landscape and let the (Three) Wise Men get every day a bit closer to it.
Almost every city on the island has at least one and there are some, really worth to visit. Here are some of them you might want to visit:
- Culture House yard - Arucas - until January 5th
- Old "Jesús Sacramentado" school, "Plaza de Santiago" - Galdar
- "Las Arenas" shopping centre - Las Palmas - until January 8th
- "San Antonio" church - Mogan - until January ...

Yes,
as terrible as it sounds that's what happened this morning on the GC-1 Highway heading towards Las Palmas. Around 6:00am a driver lost control over his vehicle, after hitting the crash barrier, which caused his car to get to stop in the middle of the motorway. A 24 year old girl who saw the incident, stopped her car on the hard shoulder and stepped of her vehicle, put on the luminiscent security vest, and rushed to the others drivers aid.
Unfortunately while calling the canarian emergency service this girl got hit by a taxi, dashing her to the other road side where she got ran over by several cars again. The "Guardia Civil", our highway patrol, said that 5 cars where involved in the accident and that the driver from the first accidented car had a possitive breath test.
WTF. What the hell is this person thinking about, ...
