Gran Canaria is called "island of eternal spring". The climate is so varied on the isle of Gran Canary because of a huge mountain range, which divedes the island into two climates. The southwest is worldwide known for it´s desert like image and the ecxellent temperatures for who preferes a dry, hot climate. The capital called Las Palmas with more than 500.000 inhabitant is located on the coast of Gran Canaria. Many interesting sights, such as the dunes of Maspalomas, or the fishermends village Puerto de Mogan, some cavesyou can visit. Who likes the huste and bustle shall visit Mapalomas or Playa del Inglés. Gran Canaria also offers many historical places to visit and many monuments to comtemplate.

The isle provides a variety of accomodation such as some excellent hotels like Gloria Palace in San Agustin or Puerto Rico and the Riu Palace in Playa de Inglés, the IFA Faro, the Costa Meloneras and the Seaside Palm Beach, where you have a golf court to your disposal.

On Gran Canaria you can find small hotels and huge modern hotel complexes near the coast side. In Las Palmas and also near Maspalomas there are some nice hotels.
