Gáldar, Gran Canaria
On the west side of the islands north shore we find Gáldar.
A large part of this town is built on the slopes of the "montaña de Gáldar",
the mountain of galdar. The rest of this municipality lays on a valey next to
it. The main activity in Gáldar is agriculture. Bananas, tomatoes and the
famous onions of Gáldar are the most comercialized agricultural goods of this
town.
The places worth to visit in this municipality are: the museum of "Antonio Padrón",
wich was a well know canarian painter born in this town. Opened in 1971 it has
about 128 artistic works, like paintings, sculptures, etc..
The ethnographic museum of "Barranco Hondo" wich is built in a natural cave where
traditional canarian good and ancient farming tools.
